Turnkey MRI Rooms (Faraday Cages)

We transform a bare space into a high-performance imaging environment.

Available configurations

Design, installation and certification for MRI enclosures from any manufacturer.

Copper-Shielded Faraday Cage

The classic solution, made of modular wooden panels clad with copper foil. It is quick to install, flexible for later modifications and offers the optimal price/performance ratio for most 1.5T and 3.0T machines.
Suitable for: county hospitals, private clinics, standard spaces.

Galvanized Sheet Metal Faraday Cage

Classic solution, made of zinc-coated or galvanized sheet metal panels. It is quick to install, durable in operation and offers the optimal price/performance ratio for most 1.5T and 3.0T MRI machines.
Suitable for: county hospitals, private clinics, standard spaces

Patient Experience

We integrate virtual skylights, wide RF windows with visual protection and warm interior finishes to reduce patient anxiety (claustrophobia).
Suitable for: Centers of Excellence, Pediatrics, Premium Clinics.

Electromagnetic Steel

Integration of electromagnetic steel panels to optimize magnetic shielding and reduce external interference. A solution recommended for MRI rooms where magnetic field control is critical.
Suitable for: high-performance MRI centers, hospitals, clinics with high-power equipment.

Active Compensation

A system for active compensation of magnetic disturbances, used to stabilize the field and reduce influences generated by traffic, elevators, electrical equipment or nearby metal structures.
Suitable for: urban locations, buildings with vibrations, spaces with external interference sources.

Compliance

A flawless electromagnetic barrier.

An MRI room is not just a room, it is a precision instrument. Any RF "leak" means image artifacts and a missed diagnosis. At MCG Systems, we control every detail.

RF shielding (the barrier):

  • Electrolytic copper: We use exclusively high-purity copper, applied to rigid panels. The joints are made using proven pressing and clamping techniques ("clamping" system) or soldering, ensuring a continuous Faraday cage across all 6 walls.
  • Guaranteed attenuation: Our systems exceed the standard requirements of the manufacturers (typically >100dB in the frequency range specific to MRI).

The Critical Elements

  • The RF door: The most heavily used component. We install RF doors with reliable closing mechanisms ("finger strips" or pneumatic contact) that maintain their seal after thousands of cycles.
  • The penetration panel: All electrical and data cables and medical gas lines enter the room through dedicated filters and waveguides, eliminating interference.

Full integration with the hospital
  • Quench duct: We design and install the helium exhaust line (Quench Pipe) in accordance with strict cryogenic safety specifications.
  • Medical finishes: We deliver the interior "ready to use" with non-magnetic materials, antistatic flooring and DC (direct current) LED lighting that does not generate "noise" in the image.
  • Testing and handover: Handover takes place only after the final RF attenuation test, with a technical report accepted by the installation engineer of the MRI equipment.
