Available configurations

We choose the door configuration based on the clinic's workflow, the available space and the shielding requirement.
All variants can be configured with a shielded frame and can be integrated into existing or new walls.

Single-Leaf Hinged Leaded Door

The most common choice for medical offices and X-ray rooms. It offers a secure closure, predictable installation and simple maintenance.
Suitable for: standard access, medium-to-high traffic.

Double-Leaf Hinged Leaded Door

Recommended when you need a wide opening for equipment, stretchers or heavy flow. It can be configured with an active leaf + passive leaf.
Suitable for: rooms with extended access, logistics, patient flow.

Sliding Leaded Door

The ideal solution when space does not allow a hinged opening or when you want a smoother flow. It can be configured manually or prepared for automation.
Suitable for: narrow spaces, high traffic.

Compliance

Construction and materials

The door is built to ensure the continuity of the shielding both in the leaf and in the frame.

Lead (Pb) shielding:

  • Typical lead layer thicknesses: 0.5 - 6 mm, set according to the radiation protection calculation / project requirements
  • We use lead of 99.94% purity (EN 12588 standard), continuously rolled, with no risky joints inside the door.

Door leaf (example options):

  • HPL/melamine or pre-painted sheet metal / stainless steel faces (depending on requirements)
  • Closing edge/profile (e.g. aluminium) for durability

Guaranteed shielding continuity. We do not simply install a door leaf with lead. Our frame is fully shielded and designed to overlap with the wall (intersection shielding). This way, we eliminate any radiation "leakage" along the perimeter, a common problem with improvised installations.

Leaded glass window

For visibility and control, the door can be fitted with a leaded glass window.

  • Typical equivalences: 2-3 mm Pb (or as per the project);
  • Dimensions adapted to the space and usage requirements;
Hardware and safety

Depending on the project and operational requirements:

  • ergonomic stainless steel handles, easy to decontaminate and resistant to mechanical wear;
  • magnetic contact/sensor to confirm closing;
  • full interconnection: The door comes ready for connection to "Radiation Hazard" warning lamps and to the interlock systems of the radiology equipment (X-ray, CT, mammography, angiography, PET-CT, etc.);
  • preparation for automation (on compatible configurations);
